Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Verity. By creating an account you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy.
The service
Verity lets individuals store identity details and issue one-time, selective-disclosure proofs, and lets registered organisations check those proofs. The service is provided as a sandbox for evaluation. It is not yet an accredited identity provider and a Verity proof is not a government-issued credential.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Details you enter must be accurate and about you. Identity details are currently self-declared and not independently checked.
- Verifier and partner accounts are issued to organisations and must be used only by authorised staff.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- enter another person’s details, or real government ID numbers while the service is in sandbox;
- attempt to forge, alter, replay or reuse a proof, or probe the service for weaknesses without written permission;
- use a proof for any purpose other than the one it was issued for, or keep data you receive from a proof longer than your law allows;
- interfere with the service or other users, or use automated means to guess codes.
Verifier obligations
Organisations that check proofs must have a lawful reason to ask for each fact, keep what they receive only as long as needed, protect it, and respect the customer’s choices. Every check is recorded against your account and visible to the customer.
Our rights
Verity and its software, design and marks belong to the operator. You keep all rights in your own data and grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or retire features, and sandbox data may be reset. We will give notice of material changes where we can.
Warranties and liability
To the extent the law allows, the sandbox is provided “as is” without warranties, and the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Ending your account
You can stop using Verity and ask for your account to be deleted at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction, without removing any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live. The operator’s details appear in the Privacy Policy.
